Hey peeps can anyone tell me why my rods arent aligning with the crank but align at 0 degrees and are aligned at 180 degrees its driving me mad
im just using simple constraints to make the rod track an empty on the crank and the piston is following the empty on the crank but constrained to the Z axis so it only goes up and down
any ideas??
Hi,
It looks like your setup is the problem.
The setup you’ve done, moves the 2 rotation centers (The hole in the Piston and the hole in the Crank)
up and down (z) exactly the same way, which is not possible in reality.
Because only one of the movements follows a circle and the other is linear, the rod would have to stretch in this setup, to keep on track of the drillings.
