what does it mean???
sorry if i have no clue, its just that i really wanna learn 3d animation and i think this site is the best way to learn it…

And one of the best ways of using the site is the search function.

Mike

LOL i couldnt find the search button >_< aacck now i feel more dumb! thanks anyways.
So what does that thing mean?

It means “if you don’t know what this message means, you don’t have to worry about it.”

Seriously, it has to do with your Python installation, but there are no problems and everything you need will run just fine.

If you really can’t stand it, and you feel you need full Python functionality, then you should install Python, and this message will go away.

<edit>

That is to say, the message will go away. The black console panel that you posted will always be there, and it’s supposed to, and don’t close it, unless you want to close Blender.

(By the way, not to try to make you feel even more dumb, but Mike_S’s link links directly to about a hundred threads answering this question…;))

REALLY?? thank you so much!! so does that mean i can run animations and stuff. hmm i better start from basics then… i guess this python thingy is for later… ACK sorry stupid grammar >_<

so does that mean i can run animations and stuff.
It sure does. Have fun. I’d suggest starting with the Summer of Documentation stuff.

http://mediawiki.blender.org/index.php/Blender_Summer_of_Documentation

Especially the Introduction to Character Animation.

If you like that, you might check out the book in my signature.

Goto www.python.org and download Version 2.4 and install on the system.
Thereafter when you run Blender, the message will change and it will say GOT IT.
Even if you don’t download, the BLENDER will work

THANK you SO much to all of you guys!! all i can say is that i am so happy being able to know Blender and i’m really excited to learn it!

Thank you Bugman and kkrawal for the links i really appreciate it

dont forget to see my flying bird animation Molding/Animation all done in blender.

Where?? hey its also possible to create a game ya?

yes. But the game engine utilises a lot of the python programming language. It’s not essential, but is recommended.

Check out bugman_2000’s link for more information

You can even Record Game Physics as IPO Curves and use in Animation.

Hi, everybody. First of all I would like to sorry for possible mistakes - English is not my native language, plus while I served in Army I received a head traumas, so I got problems with my own language.

However, I want ask you for help, because I, figurally say, I already broke my brain, in attemp to find whats wrong (except my DNA:)).

  1. I got Blender 2.42, plus intalled Pythons 2.44 and 2.5 (not together:)). Blender still type, that it can’t find any Python.
  2. I got a problems with exporting my models to different formats. I don’t need any other format except Blender own, but some of my fellows, who using my models (or, more often - try to use them:eyebrowlift2:), reported me, that my exported files don’t work. Usually 3DS had bad UV coordinates, I don’t know, how to say it correctly, but UV’s lookes too “wrinkled” or distortioned. LWO and OBJ filetypes often made “no geometry found” (or similar) messages or, sometime had hugely deformed model meshes, some verticles may be merged into one, or model parts may have wrong positions, like human hip may be at shoulder, ankle - somewhere above ears, etc. Some formats, like XSI, for example, just don’t want to start exporting.
I do not made any modifications with my PC (hard or software), after installing Blender, only try to install Pythons after I’ve checked this forum and encounter exporting problem.
    Thanks.

Python 2.5 definitely wouldn’t work. I’d uninstall 2.5, reinstall 2.4, and then reinstall Blender after that, if you haven’t tried this already.

As for question 2), this seems like enough material for a couple of different threads. I’m not really sure about what the problems are but once you get your Python properly installed and working maybe you should ask about these issues one by one in the Python forum.

Updating info: After another series of installations problem 1) was solved. Blender found Python.

About problem 2) some files still don’t want to export, 3DS, OBJ and LWO still have their problems, mentioned above. XSI was send to XSI modeller, however, I have not receive his opinion.

Thanks for helping. No mockery.
