Help in Draw Key mode, Please

I am following “The Essential Blender Guide…” book that I just bought recently.

I am new to all of this.

On chapter 3, learning about some basic animation with the example of an atom, I am asked to press K-key to enter display key mode.

Am I supposed to be able to select the visible keys in the 3D View? I am using Blender v. 2.46. This book is on version 2.44. I don’t know if that makes a difference or not.

Anyhow, I can only select the keys before I move them in the Ipo curve window when I turn Draw Key mode on.

Is there a way to select them in the 3D View window?

I don’t think there is a way to select keys directly in the 3D window. If you want to move keys, you either have to move the animated object itself or shift the keys in the IPO editor.
