hi I need help how to install blender 2.49b 64 bit, 
since there is not executable setup file i dont know where to put it

Just extract the files to wherever you want, it doesn’t matter. They can be the desktop, program files its up to you. If you’re not comfortable with this just use the 32bit installer.
k thanks but i get in the dos log that some python files can not be found how can i fix that
This will not stop you using blender, it will mean some of the scripts won’t work. If you’re not using those scripts don’t worry about it. Read the output in the dos box. It tells you that it can’t find python 2.6.x, Therefore you would do just what it says and install python 2.6.x (if you use 32bit blender install the 32bit version, if you use blender 64bit install the 64bit version)

…well my concern was i have windows 7 64bit - isn’t blender64 work lot faster than 32bit!
