I’m modeling and LCD monitor as a beginners project. I modeled the front of the screen without many problems. However, I don’t know how to close the model… i.e make a face for the back of the monitor.

You should have made so that you a corresponding vertices to link up to when you got to the back of your TV. It takes some thought to get things right but it will soon come natural for you. I made a one minute change to you file. take a look.
