Help: More option by pressing the hotkey s,r,g

hello everyone, i am new to blender.
I hope someone can help me.

It is like this. I have reinstalled the blender.
But now I notice that the hotkey works very differently than before.
First I could for example after pressing the hotkey s, I could get the same option like when I click on the scale. But now I can’t get it anymore. Now it scales in all directions. Same goes for the move hotkey.

Does anyone know how to set this up?

Thank you.

Welcome :tada:,
?? hotkey S is for scale in all directions… S-X in glbal X axis S-X-X in normal X-axis… ! If you did reinstall blender did you also deleted your personal user prefs?

Yes, i think i deleted everyting. But i don’t know what i did before. I got option after pressing the hotkey, now i need to change my workflow.
I need to learn this way i think.

I just found the solution:
"See the tool icons on the left side of the viewport? Simply right click one, select ‘Assign Shortcut’, and type in the shortcut the tool already uses.

Do this for the Move, Rotate and Scale tools in turn, in both Object and Edit Mode (and probably any other mode you use). Then bam, no more free form transform, the shortcut will now directly select the tool you’re after and nothing more, just as it should!"

What? You are saying:

and type in the shortcut the tool already uses

and

…no more free form transform,…

but the gizmos are to scale, rotate, transform in axis direction and the shortcuts are the default !!???

Bala you shouldn’t have to assign these as shortcuts, they should be standard hotkeys as Oki describes.

Hi,
I now have what I wanted. After assigning I get an option, in which direction I want to do something. I find this easier
And sorry for my bad english.

Thank you all.
