Help! Moving around the view...

I am having a lot of problems viewing objects and such because I know nothing about blender, so please help me.
Can anyone give me some very clear but DETAILED information about panning and zooming in Blender.
These questions have to be answered specifically:

How do you snap back the view to the center of the grid after panning (with Shift + MMB)?
(OFF TOPIC) How do you add an object to the center of the grid /space instead of somewhere up in a corner?

I hope someone can help me, quickly.

Thanks already,
Ray Green

At the top of the forum is a ‘New to Blender’ option or http://gryllus.net/Blender/3D.html

Objects are added at the location of the 3d curser. Reset it to the origin with Shift+C (sets the curser to the center and refocuses the view) or Shift+S/curser to center

This is your 3D cursor:
