Help needed with Joystick Sensor in BGE

I’ve been working on a project for some time now and am still struggling with using the joystick sensor in the BGE.

It seems that every time I add the joystick for up, down, left and right to give movement for my object, the joystick produces a continuous movement within the game engine when I want the object to stop when the joystick is returned to neutral.

I’m not sure if this is a common problem or if I’m just doing something wrong. I’m a complete Blender newbie, and would really appreciate any help.

For information, my object is set to Dynamic, Actor. The sensor is set to Joystick, Axis.

have you tried setting the threshold to above 100?
then try the “…” thats in the air that is true triggering mode.

…oh and please don’t use dynamic. the physics for that only really work with scripted objects and particles and such. use static mesh for almost anything you’ll ever make that moves (it can still deform if it’s a character and has animation but there’s a whole different way of doing that)
Sometimes you’ll use soft mesh but that’s for bouncy balls or blobs of lava and such.

Thank you so much, LubeyRin, that seems to have solved the problem.

glad i could help!
