Help: No menus visible in Blender 2.45

Hey everyone. I’ve been using blender for about 5 minutes so I’m as new as it gets. I’ve been reading through tutorials and trying to get a feel for the interface, but the problem I’m having is that when I click a button where a menu is supposed to pop up- it doesn’t.
Rather, it’s invisible.

If I click “File” instead of seeing the menu that is supposed to be there I see the same screen I did before I click, but if I move the cursor down a bit and click I can still hit whatever button would be right there, i.e. “save”

I don’t know what to do here. I’ve un and reinstalled Blender, I updated Python to 2.5 since blender wouldn’t even open with 2.3 for me.

I’m running on a Powermac G4. OSX 10.4.11. ATI Radeon 9200 Mac Edition 128mb (which I’ve tried finding an updated driver for but with no luck.)

Any ideas? I can’t really do much with the program if I can see the menus.

Any and all help is much appreciated.

Best,

Many people have problems with ATI cards. I personally can’t help you but perhaps someone else can a give you some advice.

The sticky, Solutions to common problems, deals mainly with driver issues like yours. It’s a long thread, but you might find what you need there.
