Help on some basic blender questions

Hi all.

Im very new to blender and is taking a course for it, would really appreciate if anyone could help me with these 2 questions, I’ve been searching for very long but I can’t find the answers. Hope you could help

Question 1
You have some faces with normals pointing outwards next to faces with normals pointing inwards, You want consistant normals. Seelct all faces and use Ctrl+N to recalculate the normals. If this doesn’ fix it try to remove any double vertices (W / remove doubles) or flip selected faces manually (W / Flip Normals)

Question 2
The blue lines indicate the normal direction. Turn display on/off in the properties panel (N) under mesh Display while you are in edit mode
