Help Optimizing Textures

I have an animation that I need to get really close to the texture in. The problem is that the, right now, the texture I am currently using is 20k and really causing a lot of issues. I am using Optix and Cycles. The scene is only taking about 3gb of GPU memory of the 8gb total. Also, I have 64gb of system memory. Is there a solution to make the texture smaller but still keep the resolution clear? Short of modeling it, I am at a loss. Attached are two renders showing what I am talking about. Any help would be much appreciated.
