So I’ve made this body, it’s pretty basic but it has no face. AND I NEED A FACE! I NEEEED A FACE, male face because a neutral friend has asked for a male character, I can do the clothes, the armor, the hair (I believe I can at least) But I can’t make a face out of the mesh. I’ve checked Youtube, they all start from scratch, I can’t do that. Or when they do make a head it’s the edge method and can’t do that because the body’s already made. OR they make the face/head really… awkward… I need something kinda realistic with that hint of cartoony feel to it. Like FF (Final fantasy) or HTTYD (How to train your dragon).
It’s better if you make a face by yourself. You can do the poly by poly method even though you’ve got a body already, you can change the number of vertices by the neck or so and merge them there. Maybe this is a bit advanced but you can see the main loops needed: http://wiki.polycount.com/wiki/FaceTopology
I just had a very similar problem. I had to remove the part of the mesh I wanted to put a face on, and then added a separate mesh face I had created. I just made sure the hole was slightly larger than the face, and then pulled the vertices all together and merged them.
