is there any way that i can get a camera to follow a path that i made brcause i am trying to put a camera through a set of winding tubes and i do not see how it is possible. i made the tubes with a path then setting the diamiter with a bezier cruve and i wanted to have the camera stay dead center in these tubes as it moves through them. if u need to look at the .blend file please personal message me
You make the camera follow the path, using the “Follow Path” constraint; it’s a pretty simple procedure. You select your camera, add a Follow Path constraint, and in the Path box, put the name of the path you want it to follow. it should follow along the -X axis, if Im not mistaken, and the Z axis facing up. (Note, I am using an unstable CVS build, but that shouldnt matter in this case) The hard part id positioning the camera, you have to have it at the begining of the tube, fo it to follow along inside of it. Moving the viewport and pressing Shift-0 (Zero, not ‘O’) at the start of it should place your camera there. I suggest placing the camera before constraining it. This should give the result you are looking for. If you search the “New Features Testing” post in the “Finished Projects” forum, you will see that I have made a similar example, that you can try, if you so choose. If you want a specific link, or a new file (I’m not sure if that old one is there anymore) please respond and ask.
thank you ognissim you were right about possitioning the camera it still gave me a problem but i got it done now one more question now that i have the camera through the tubes at the end i have a logo for a school newscast and it has an arch that will rotate around the text red then green then blue then turn white and illuminate the final text i have no problem illuminating it but i dont have the text set on an axis that i can rotate it useing keyframes. which in part is my fault %| i tried virtually everything within my grasp i have made the text a track a parent and i cant get it to rotate correctly even if i add a hook i cant get it to rotate correctly how would i go uppon doing this without rotating the whole model and screwing up my camera posisition as before if u need to examine the blend file i will gladly supply it in a personal message.
Yes, the link you gave is not working: It looks like you are trying to give it from a Yahoo Breifcase, though I may be wrong. Could you put it somewhere like Mudpuddle? And also, you second question isn’t clear to me, could you please restate it? I was gone this weekend, so sorry for the late reply…
