(help) subdivision surface not work properly

hello, so the problem is that i can not figure why is that shape not smooth like it should. In some angle i can see that the shape is pretty smooth but in the render the reflexive material is all jagged. why is that? Thanks for the attention!

Really merged geometry (you can’t grab the flat faces and they are disconnected)? Smooth shading off on some faces?

Are there any other modifiers besides subdivision at work?

hello, sorry the delay…so, they are merged, and selected all of them and make sure to choose shade smooth, but still the same

was a mirror before, but i applied

6
i have also tried mess around with this auto smooth option on object data propeties…no sucess

Sometimes I have had problems with normals after applying a mirror. Have you tried recalculating the normals? (edit mode select all and mesh-normals-recalculate outside)

i did! the normals looks fine…maybe is a bug :man_shrugging:

the weird thing is that this jagged thing dont even match the geometry

FOUND IT!

i clearly made some mistake with this normal map, once i disconect it get smooth again…thank you guys!..was not subsurface after all

Try setting the normal map image ( and roughness image) to Non colour. They should be set to non colour to work properly.
