HELP | use displacement maps or just sculpt it ?

Hi, need help or suggestion . Im trying to do a tree character . Should i use displacement maps or just sculpt it ? I dont need that high details like in the image.

PS | I used Maya before but now trying out blender and did more of hard surface modeling.
