[Help] UV mapping Flame Model

Hi all,

I am brand new to this community and very new to learning Blender. I am trying to make a gradient flame flair and make two models, one orange/red and the other blue. I am having some difficulty unwrapping the model and getting the base to match the colors of the model and there is a small error for the gradient color I am trying to cover up. Thanks for any help!

Good to see you here, this model is a little dense for effective UV mapping.

Hopefully you have learned some of the basic concepts. I did a quick video of a very rough fix. https://youtu.be/bq2D-R7rinA

i use the decimate modifier to reduce the vert count a bit to get started and then a very quick clean up of a few places. That allowed me to get a uv map made pretty quick. Ideally you would re-topologize the mesh neatly before doing this.

It seems that you want to have only a gradient color to your mesh, so you can make it a UV-project from view.

the problem is UV unwrapping hope this will help

Thanks for this video! It was very helpful I was able to fix the model.
