can anyone tell me how to set it so that black one an image will get one texture while white on the image will get another texture, so i can have two image textures on one mesh? Im going to use tilable textures, but i want to tile the textures according to the section of the image they pertain to "{ and since i am a beginner in cycles…i kinda dont know how) i was wondering if someone would help me figure the setup out, im going to try myself of course
heres the texture im trying to use
im trying to get the diamond to display one texture and the black to display green
still trying to get the texture to do this but its not working?
HELP!!!
i guess i did something dumb because blender crashed!!!
anyway, i was trying to use the greater than to define if its greater than black, its the dirt texture
and if it is black, its the grass texture?
how would i do this!?
Texture stencil map. Use your diamond image as a stencil in texture layers, between your grass texture and your dirt texture images. There are tuts on this can explain better than I could … search for it.
I think you could also texture splat paint this using diamond image as stencil - check out Pablo Vazquez tutorials http://vimeo.com/1146131. This would give you more control if you want dirt and grass to mix in some areas ie some dirt on the grass etc.
i was thiniking more along the lines of a way to do it with cycles. This is with GLSL, and i dont have a GPU or a graphics card, so i cant do this. It wont show. anyway what im saying is blenderguru (*andrew price) did this in 2.5 with the earth tutorial, but that was with the nodes in that particular system, now im working with different node setups, so basically im trying to do the same thing, but with nodes in cycles

I did it!!!
I cant believe it but Ive done it take a look! will post render setup in a little if anyone wants it
the bottom is a baseball field, with 2 different image textures made to only show up in the black spot, or the white spot!!!
also has bump mapping!!!
