Help with Curve and Arrays (Feathers on a Hook)

I’m currently sculpting the feathers on a Winged Hussar but these feathers on the hook (A part of their armour) is not curving the way it is supposed to (I would like the tips of the feathers to alight horizontally around the hook. Here is a reference picture.

Use Z on the factor instead. You also need to rotate the mesh by 90 degree.

If you need the feather to vary in degree or scale you will need to research into particle system or geometry node.

If you turn on the buttons for Display in Edit Mode…it is far easier to set up the feathers on the curve in relation to the hook…
you can turn off the screen view of the modifier to rotate the original feather to get the orientation correct and turn it back on to set the amount and spacing, right in the view.
