hey, guyzzz. I’ve been having these really wierd dreams. This girl with dirty blonde hair about my age keeps showin’ up! the funny ting is, iv’e never laid eyes on this person in my life. however, there’s just this eery familiar-ness about her that i just can’t put my finger on… and last night, she showed up, except it wasn’t her, it was a guy, but his personality and hair color were the exact same, and he felt familiar too. And this one dream where she appeared, she was gone, and i was on this pirate ship and i got my arse kicked by a bunch of goblins. Then the next night, same dream, but she was there, and we instead stowed away on the ship, and sailed somewhere… then i woke up. Then last night i freakin died! we were goin up in this elevator, and it fell, and I died. Fo those it may concern, most of these dreams took place in my favorite comic shop, even the ones i had before i even started going to the comic shop. The first time i saw her was at a mcdonalds. mmm…
but back to the point, i was hoping that perhaps someone here could maybe help me out with this familiar girl that I’ve never met?
lol i doubt it! I first started seeing this girl last year, long before i had even known of this shop’s existence. (which is funny cause its right down the street from my house) Its not like she’s a ghost, or something though that i know of. Her personality is actually darn close to mine! doesn’t have that sick sense of humor like me, though, lol…
Also, i seem to remember that last night, as a guy, her name was “dark-star”, an i seem to recall a connection with x-men. Did you know that darkstar actually is a blonde, female x-man wearing the same colors as in my dream last night? I was completely unaware of the existence oof such an x-man, despite being a relentless comic book nerd :p. Wierd, huh?
No, i’ve really never seen nor heard of this person in my entire life. Plus, I’m homeschooled, so… ya… kind of a dead end there… why did you think I’m able to spam the forums so often? Just Kidding! really! but really the school thing is a dead end. I can’t think of anyone who even remotely resembles the person!
One of my recent dreams involved mention of a giant mech destroying buildings, the friends of Thomas the Tank Engine, and the Justice League (mentioned by name only)
The mech’s frame was made out of giant toilet paper rolls with toilet paper on it and was invented by some guy in China, and to protect our house from it’s building demolition abilities we had little toilet paper rolls for it to take. Later it has some lightsaber type thing and a giant hammer. That was about the time the talking engines were in a building and they all rolled away to get to get away from the mech. And then everything was destroyed and there was mention of the Justice League coming to save the day. In the last part I was in a church that wasn’t destroyed yet with the walls having hebrew letters on them and there was some imagery of the mech becoming a giant Dragon with large eyes and…
Just to say I’m used to wierd dreams. You should get used to them too, you have decades of wierd dreams ahead of you, but if this is recurring, maybe you should find the cause.
You say you died. So how are you alive now? j/k. But I have never died in a dream, usually if I felt like I was about to die, I would wake up before it happened.
MercuryStudio: Ever thought of Anima/Animus theory? Carl Jung said that how we percieve members of the opposite sex can sometimes make its way into our dream state as a sort of female persona, and how the persona is portrayed in the dream reflects our developing sense of self (masculine self for women, feminine self for men) and how we relate mentally to those of the opposite gender around us.
@ cd; thx for the story lol
@ roofoo; i die a lot, actually. I get shot rather often.
@ zombiejohn; I’ve seen you give very good advice, so i made sure to read your post a couple times. I’m not postively sure what you said… from what i gather it sounds like your saying she may be the feminine side of me, or what? Her personality is actually very similiar to mine, as I said, but frankly, I’m a little confused as to what you meant, exactly. I’m sure it was very helpful though, thx.
but anyway, thx for the help guyzzz.
edit: also @cd; how might i go about finding the cause? it is semi-rucurring, if you will. Whenever there is a life or death situation, for the past year, she would show up. How might i gi about identifying the cause for that?
@ hesseiss; I don’t really get good enough looks at her to model her, but if I did, that would be a solid suggestion. I may attempt to model the darkstar version at some point, though.
mercurystudio: no, that’s pretty much what I meant, and that how the anima appears and acts in your dream is changed by how you see women as a whole, subconsciously. It’s all theory of course, but I have a fair bit of respect for Jung’s work.
aaaahh. okay, i think I get it now. Thanks. hmmm,so would that be the reason for the sort of underlying familiarity, then? That makes sense. Thank you for your help zombie john, guess its another one for your tip jar, then.
As ZombieJohn so thoughtfully offered, some of the ideas coming out of Jung and the field of depth psychology can be fairly helpful, but bear in mind that dreaming is one of the more complex of mental phenomena, so cautious comments are offered. A way to begin, for me, is to imagine initially that all of the elements of the dream could be aspects of my-self, this is just one way to approach the subject, and when possible, I keep an open mind so that no singular consideration is operative, but more likely a “both and” construct is useful, not at all like waking consciousness… When an unknown, “opposite sex” figure has a prominent role (assuming a primarily heterosexual personal identification on the part of the dreamer) a working assumption can be that it represents an “anima” figure, all the more so when it has aspects that seem familar and somewhat like, but then again, they can be quite constrasting. When a same sex figure appears, (again, not immediately identifiable, as in "my brother’ or ‘my boss’) it can be suggestive of “shadow,” an aspect of the self which is not integrated as of yet. It is not inherently “dark” or “bad” despite the name, but should be attended to. If dreams come in the service of “wholeness and healing” (very Jungian approach) even the most unsettling of dreams and images should be thoughtfully regarded. Writing, journaling, drawing, actively imagining, are all ways to respectively approach the phenomena. By way of encouragement, it is a process, across a span of the lifetime of the individual, to become more “whole” and the integration with aspects of the ‘Self’ often is heralded by the approach of an anima/animus figure in dreams or creative imaginings. A literary example is Beatrice in Dante’s Inferno, who arrives to guide him through his own personal “limbo” towards a more complete “wholeness.”

I think it is possible that you have some past life connection with this girl. Perhaps, he/she was a guy in another life time.
There are several dream symbols in the dreams. For example, goblins often signify some nasty aspect of oneself. It could be something from the past that is haunting you.
Going up in an elevator means that you are access some higher aspect of your Being on the higher planes of consciousness. Dreams are a way to symbolically access these consciousness.
Since you seem to have studied dream theory, I wonder, what would you make of this scenario.
You’re walking, then you find it difficult to walk, then you can’t move, then you fly backwards.
And what the aspects of the dream I had that I posted, and the noting or mention of a Dragon or Dragon form at the end, any Dragon forms at the end were nearly the same as the Dragon body I had when I was a Dragon. What about the mech with the toilet paper roll frame, or was that from too much caffeine?
@mercurystudio: it is your dream – what do you think it means? First off, I understand that you don’t know, which is why you’re asking, but if you did know, what would it be?
Someone who knows you well, who you have told many dreams to, may be able to untie the dream for you, but I’m guessing that person does not exist.
Dreams are usually symbolic representation of what that is happening or will be happening in a few days or weeks.
Just some wild guesses about your dreams…
“You’re walking, then you find it difficult to walk, then you can’t move, then you fly backwards.”
At that time or some near future, you are trying to resolve or understanding some situations. But you are faced with some difficulties. Fly backwards may means the wishes to go backward in times to before the situation has happened.
As for the other dream… the mech one…
I think the mech represent sometime that is bugging you. Toilet paper roll may symbolises that it has to do with paper. Probably some paperwork is giving you a hard time.
Dragon has a lot of meaning. In the east, it could be seen as a symbol of the soul. It depends on what dragon means to you.
