help with freestyle rendering on 2.69 files

hi
i have a few 2.69 files that i like to rerender with freestyle, but cannot get then to render in freestyle at all.
the files were created with 2.69 version of blender, but i am using 2.73a.
i hope i do no have to downgrade back to 2.69 to do it.
i have tried to append every object into a new 2.73a file, but I seem to lost a lot of infomation that way (like object relations, total frame #, settings, etc). any suggestion to “upgrade” an old file with all animation and setting intact? or any suggestion why old files failed to render freestyle? thanks.

You need to supply your blend file otherwise we’re all working blind.

hi all
i have just managed to get it working.
you will need at least three steps to make old files working:

  1. check freestyle under render tab (and choose line thickness or whatever setting)
  2. on second tab (rendering layers and masks etc), below passes:
    check advanced options for freestyle: and set sphere radius to 0.1 (this setting is copied from brand new 2.73a file)
  3. check “+” on “Line Set” under “Freestyle Line Set” (below advanced options)
    The three steps seems to be the minimum to get freestyle working on old files…
