Hoping for some help. Please refer to the 2 images. It’s very apparent when you click on the thumbnails and view the full size images. I’m using the blender.org 2.61 build and since I have a nvidea 550 TI card, I’m using the experimental GPU option that utilizes the cuda.
My problem is whenever I use any kind of emmision light ( plane, Ico sphere) I get what I consider really bad noise and artifacts that don’t go away even after 500 passes, I’ve gone as high as 1000 passes and it really doesn’t seem to improve. As I’ve seen in tutorials, I have created a plane (outside the window in this example, directed it on a slight angle and adjusted
When using only world light I don’t have near the amount of noise and I get a relatively clean render in as low as 100 passes. But I don’t get what seems to be realistic light/ shadows ect. as it seems I get, using emmision lights.
I’m using the settings that are noted below… they are the default settings. Should I be using one of the 3 other options … Direct light or full or limited global illumination… they seem to have different settings with these presets. But these images use the folowing:
Bounces 8 max, 3 min
Light Paths 128 Diffuse, 128 Glossy, 128 Transmission
Shadows are checked, No caustics is unchecked
Any recommendations would be helpful.
