Help with projecting from view

Hi, I’m still fairly new to blender as I’ve been fiddling with 2.49b for about 2 months now, getting used to modeling mostly. Now that I’ve started trying to grasp different ways of texturing I’ve come across a tutorial on using sprite images as textures for buildings. In this tutorial they texture a mesh to make a pokemon building using projecting from view. Although the video still left me with alot of questions as to how he did it. The point in the video where I got lost was where he projected the image onto the mesh and on. If someone could layout the steps as to how he did this that’d be great.
