I’m new to Blender and hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. I’m trying to cover a surface with an egg-like object using the scatter add-on. I need the “eggs” to be the same size, nested beside each other, and completely cover the surface at random, but I can’t get scatter to maintain the scale and fill in the gaps between “eggs”. Any tips, tools, or techniques for achieving seamless coverage with a consistent scale?
Hi, I don’t use the addon so I don’t know how well it solves those problems, but geometry nodes is meant for this kind of use case. What you’re looking for exactly is called 2D sphere packing (cf youtube) for reference. It can be solved efficiently using a simulation
