Hi everyone, quick question: i am modelling some kind of jewelry box and need to do a simple rig in order to open and close the box for some animation purposes. I figured out the simple rig for the top part of the box and for the hinge in the middle; BUT i can’t figure out how to rig the 2 little cloth stripes on the side. They simply need to bend on the inside while the box is closing
Any help will be appreciated
Hi, you could simply create shape keys that fold it or use bones rigged with ik.
Hi, yea i was trying to set up an ik but i’m struggling with the bending of the laces. Because i need them to bend towards the inside… Will probably dig deeper on youtube cause my lack of knowledge about rigging is WILD lol

The other option will be to use a curve for the lace.
With ik make sure you also set pole target then you can direct the bend inwards.
This is an old tutorial for using curve but should work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EO0riqHnhPU
Ik setup make sure you bend slightly the bones before adding the ik.
Animate this bone:
can i ask you if you can share the blend file for this last screenshot? seems the right solution!
Sorry i have deleted it but can redo it and send soon.
