Hey everyone, this is my first post.
Im new to blender, but have been using 3ds max for a while.
Would someone kindly be able to bake a texture in its correct proportions into my model?
Its only a low poly tunnel object, and i have made up tileable textures. Blender must be hating me because the textures just show up blank no matter what tutorial i follow or do.
Is it possible to bake them into the model as well?
If you can help, I will send you the model and texture, I have just spent to much time trying to figure it out with no luck.
Is it also possible to bake spec, diff, norm and colour maps into a model?
Cheers and a thousand internets to anyone who wants to help me!
In order for texture baking to work, there are some basic requirements.
your mesh has to be UV unwrapped and your UV coords loaded onto a fresh image file in the UV editor.
your mesh must have materials and textures set up in the materials and texture buttons.
so, if you take a normal render, and you can see that your model has the correct material and texture, you are good to go.
if the texture has a bump channel, you can bake that as an rgb normals map, but there is no such texture baking function for spec. you can bake any texture channel into a UV texture though, just by setting it up to bake just that channel, mapped to ‘col’ ( color ).
