Help with water simulation on water fountain model

I wanted to make water flow on this home water fountain model. I was hoping to make the water come in the top and pour its way down through the little dips until it’s in the last box. Whenever I bake the simulation though, the water sort of hovers over the model and just acts up a lot.

Does anyone know how to make the water work on complex setups? The model and the rocks are set as obstacles.

This is the model:

Does your domain object cover your whole model ?
Perhaps you could also try to change the resolution of the simulation.

No luck there. This is a screenshot of what the fluid simulation does:

It sort of hovers above the rim but it seems to fall into some type of invisible mid-air dent leading directly to the gap where I want it to go.

Does anyone know what’s happening here?

Make sure you have reset the scales for your fluid, domain and obstacles before baking with Ctrl+A / scale

I figured it out when I was messing around with the controls. When I set up the rocks and the fountain as “obstacles” I had the volume initialization set to “volume”. I set that to “shell” and it’s working right now as far as I can tell or at least for the most part.

I’m kind of new to fluid simulations and the animating aspect of 3D modeling and animation so I would greatly appreciate it if some of you could check back every few hours or so for about two days so I can get help if I need it? I know that’s asking quite a bit though.

I hit another problem (how surprising. lol)

Is there a way I can make it so the fluid doesn’t sort of hover away from all the walls?

As you can see in the image, the liquid doesn’t touch the floor, walls, or the rocks. The fluid just sort of hovers; however, it is getting closer to what I need.

Does someone know how to fix this?
