hey can blender turn 2d images of 3d objects like in photos into 2d so you can find out the dimensions?like for faces for examplewhat is the best kind of software for this if blender is not it?
do you mean can it turn a photo into a 3D object? I am not sure what is possible with the tools that came out of the tomato branch, so I hesitate to say that it can’t, but as far as I know, it can’t. However there are programs that can, some of which are free. You can export from them to blender as .dxf I think. The process is called photogrammetry, and the software I am thinking of is called ‘photomodeler lite’.
no. blender doesnt recognise a 2d image as anything other than a series of pixels. in order to establish any depth you need to track it which requires a minimum of two slightly ofset images. even photogrammetery software requires a multitude of images to reconstruct a 3D model
you could make a displacemet map but again here
it is valid only at same angle then when looking at the pic
so the mesh is totaly skewed and not a real 3D
there is also Blam script that can help to make some 3D models from pic !
