Sorry Newbie here… how do you add different colours to things(more than 1)??? For example a mesh plain. I want to add grass for the lower part and snow on the mountains.
Multiple Materials http://mediawiki.blender.org/index.php/Manual/PartIII/Multiple_Materials
You might have to uv it probobly. Grass you can do with particles. Snow, you probobly could too.
There is a tutorial for multiple materials somewhere…
Or if you just need basic coloring, you could just use two materials on the same object with two different colors.
However, I havea question in this thread. Is it possible to put two textures on one mesh? Say take B Man+'s example!
Same thing as with two colors, except when you’ve created the two materials, you need to add textures (in the texture panel) to each color/material and specify how they’re mapped, etc…
Oh Ryz - I never figured it would work that way. Now im off to try my multi texture model - yaaa! Thanks!
UV mapping is the way to go. I think there are only rare occasions where multiple materials make sense.
Remember that you are bound to the mesh topology when you try to use 2 different materials, one for grass, one for snow.
