HHV ATE® Ballistic Helmet Multicam

Latest finished project for client , real time rendered on sketchfab :

Good work
I have some questions! How long did it take approximately to model/texture/etc? Why the topology of some parts is “messy”? It come from other software, decimation or is scanned?

Hi Mik1190

I worked on the model over several days with some gaps in between so It was not a rush job thank goodness. I cant say the exact hours I spent each day but I did do many revisions on the model , something I try to avoid as best possible but this time I seemed to need to do many revisions to get it looking right.

The job was for me to build a 3D model of the helmet with the specific purpose of displayed real time on the clients website in a sketchfab viewer so once I was finished the modeling I did decimate several pieces as you noticed to bring the poly count down. No scanning was involved.

thanks for the compliments

This look pretty nice.
What was the purpose of the job?
Is this a millitary supplier asking you to create models to be showcased on any e-store or something?

Yes it is for a small business which sells this helmet they don’t sell any other equipment. ( the helmet has a few variations though )

They created a shopify page and wanted the 3d viewer to embed on the page in addition to the photos they have.

here is the webpage :

The business is owned by an actual veteran ( check the about page on the site )
