Hiding 3d window grid?

I must be missing something. I couldn’t find this from knowledge base or anywhere else:

Can you hide 3d window grid? How, is there a keyboard shortcut for that.

In the 3D window go to the settings (SHIFT+F7) and change the grid lines distance to 0.00
