is there a way to make a high poly model into a low poly model
i think remove doubles might help out, not really sure myself though
You can limit the number of triangles (which limits polygons) by using the decimator under the edit buttons. BUT, this erases any texture mapping on the object and also vertex painting. Plus, this can lead to misformed objects if taken to extremes. Give it a try then push ‘apply’ * Make sure you check your results before saving… Hope this helps!!!
enter edit mode and delete or merge things until you are satisfied with the polygon count [you will probably have to fix your textures and stuff]
the decimator is a quick and dirty hack, and that it removes textures and vertex weights and materials is very annoying.
