More Robots! Modeled in Blender. Rendered with Cycles. Textured with Substance 3D Painter. Playing with emissive objects and interactive lights. No real plan for this one, it just evolved as I was working on it. Because of that it probably took a little longer than it should have. I’ve included a short animation. The animated graphics on the “eye screen” were done with Photoshop.
I featured you on BlenderNation, have a great weekend!
Thanks Bart!
You’re on the featured row! ![]()
Would love it the animation was longer! ![]()
The robot design is very cool and feels realistic. The bootup sequence with the lightning going off is also very nice.
nice work! I would maybe have done the camera dolly in reverse. To finish in front and see betters the eye screen effect! Not sure if it would have been even better or same. Congrats anyway
Thanks! I agree that longer would have been better. This took a long time to render though. I probably went overboard in splitting the lights out into separate render layers.
Thank you! That’s a good comment about the camera. You may be right about that.
Wow, great job on this all around! ![]()
Thank you!
This looks Super Cool, Love your model details and textures as well
.
What was you inspiration for this?
Thanks. This one had no real plan. I was looking at videos of Jacob’s ladders and wanted to see if I could create something similar in Blender. I thought the interactive lighting from the effect looked cool, so I added it to a robot I had been working on. The effect was originally part of the robot itself, but I didn’t really like it. So I thought I would put it onto assembly-line arms that attached to the robot. That lead to the animated scene. The project really had a life of its own. I usually plan things out a lot more.
