High water.

Hi all,
after mostly doing pencil drawings most of my life, I decided to check out this 3D thing software called Blender. Wow, I like it.

This is my first project using Blender. Before this just only practiced alot with rendering, modelling and lighting, etc. I started this image as an idea to start with matte painting, by modelling some 3D objects and then using these models to do a matte project with Gimp. But before I noticed it I already did it all in Blender! It has been fun doing it!

I had no intention to make a photo realistic image. Just a lighting practice.

Blender Internal render, 1 Sun light and 1 Hemi light, and obvious the spotlights for the lighthouse.
Done with Blender 2.41 & Gimp.

Ah, who cares. One kind kind reply, so I suppose it wasn’t that impressive.

Removed the fog and Gimped the image a bit.

I think removing the fog helps clear up the scene a bit more with where the water is.

Nice work, especially for a first project

You’ve done a pretty good job, so there isn’t much to comment on. You might consider trying some other angles just to find some other interesting views of this.
