Hint how to simulate this hinge?

hi, I am looking for some hints about how to physically simulate the rotation of an hinge. There are two square tubes, a hole and an axis.
I am a bit lost about all the possibilities in the software, and look for some hints on the right way to do this.
My goal is to check that during movement, the two tubes will not collide.

Hi, you could use bones or you could use the object itself. Place the curser at the hinge centre point and move the origin to the curser. For the hinge parts not to collide use rotation limit.

Thanks for your reply.
Nice and simple!
What if the hinge axis is a 3D line, not parallel to any of X, Y or Z ?

I am not sure what you mean can you show example of it?

like this, the hinge should follow the ‘axis’ line:

There is on the right top corner options to line the object origins to the axis required.

Oh, great, thanks !
I did not knew that object origins can be transformed in that way.
