Hey everyone,
We know how it usually goes when a big VFX studio posts on a community forum. It can easily feel corporate or out of touch. But this is fellow Blender users who know where the heart of the community is.
The sheer amount of knowledge sharing, tool building, and outright wizardry on this forum genuinely inspires a lot of what we do.
There’s a common (and fair) assumption that big studios only use Blender for quick initial blockouts before handing things off to traditional pipelines. But in VisDev at Framestore, Blender is our primary CG workhorse. In fact, as far as we know, we’re the only major film VFX studio where Blender is fully integrated into the core film pipeline, hooked straight into our render farm and Nuke workflow.
Framestore has Blender power users running in small, sharp VisDev teams. We aren’t just messing around with simple concepts - we’re driving monumental visual decisions for some of the biggest feature films, moving fluidly through modelling, shading, Geo Nodes, lighting, and rendering.
We’re currently looking for two Blender Generalists to join the team - one based in London and one in Montreal (hybrid).
We need artists who genuinely love solving visual puzzles across the entire pipeline. One day you’re building photoreal shaders or dressing environments, the next you’re dialling in lighting to set the mood for a whole sequence, or using Geo Nodes to iterate at speed. It’s fast, creative, and your work actually ends up setting the visual benchmark for the rest of production.
If you want to work alongside people who genuinely push Blender to its absolute limits on huge projects, we’d love to see your showreel.
