Unfortunately I kind of screwed up a few things and went in a different direction. I still flirt with it and intend to make one nice piece before I die.
So about the importance of art.
First off it pushes culture forward and keeps culture strong.
But strictly from a financial perspective - If you buy art created by someone who continually builds on the reputation and builds a name for themself. You could potentially have a very good investment there.
In tough economic times - some things get strong and maintain value - gold, art, wine and scotch.
I haven’t bought anyone else’s work yet. I’m poor. But I would definitely like to in the future.
I agree with all of the points you make Tam and judging from the quality of drawing in your portfolio I think you could produce more than one good painting before you die, however I have a feeling the OP could be a spam bot. I apologise If it isn’t spam but then again it isn’t really news and discussion about Blender either:)
I am a realistic oil painter, been all my live…But one makes a living of less romantic stuff… So, decorated walls with my pictures… only family members’ houses and rare cases of some person getting one picture.
