Hook not evaluated relatively to armature

Hello everyone,

I’ve never used hooks before and I’ve tried to add one on a rigged mesh, it works only when its parent is at zero. Say it’s a hook that influences an eyebrow, and the parent bone is the one controlling the head… well if I move the head bone, the vertex group that’s influenced by the hook bone starts deforming, as if the hook bone was moving, when it’s not ! What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks,

Hadrien

Little confused here by your description. Hook is a Empty object attached to a vertex. What do you mean when you say “Hook bone”? Hook is not a bone.

if I move the head bone, the vertex group that’s influenced by the hook bone starts deforming, as if the hook bone was moving, when it’s not !

Normally the head bone parents all the bones on the face. So yes if you move the head bone all bone gone with it along with the mesh. So yes vertex group should be moving with the head.

Well one can have the hook modifier point to pretty much any object, in my case I chose a bone (say the eyebrow bone). What happens is the hooked vertex group moves “twice” as if not only the head bone moved, but the eyebrow bone moved as well, relatively to the head I mean.
