Hotkey won't work.

I made an addon that adds a menu item that opens a file browser and processes a file.
It works fine, but when I try to add a hotkey on the ‘Input’ tab of the ‘User Preferences’ window, a ‘File Path:’ option pops up in the box and seems to want a path for the hotkey to do anything.

Why won’t the hotkey work just like clicking on the menu item?

And why can’t I right-click on the menu item and add a hotkey?

it’s not a button, it’s an expanded EnumProperty

you can change the active section via:

bpy.ops.wm.context_set_enum(data_path=“user_preferences.active_section”, value=“INPUT”)

You can set it up like this under “Window”:

CoDEman…Thanks, that wasn’t what I was looking for, but you just taught me a new trick.

I don’t know why I couldn’t previously get the hotkey to work for my menu item, but now it does.
Maybe restarting Blender, or Windows, or waiting for the alignment of the planets to be just right did the trick.
