Houdini 18 Presentation

SideFX presented Houdini 18 in Montreal, here is the videos on both Vimeo and YouTube, and yes, it is awesome!


I saw the shortened version that just had the new features in action. Impressive stuff like always from Houdini.

Still though, one of the industry’s most highly optimized fluid solvers still needs over a day to compute part of an animation on a submarine surfacing, perhaps quick and accurate iteration is just impossible as long as our processors use Silicon.

And someday, we will learn how to do destructive effects without the pre-fracturing of objects, but Houdini 18’s intelligent approach to the limitation makes it almost impossible to spot in motion.
