I usually don´t post here but I was getting such nice comments on the Luxrender forum about this images that decided to put them here as well.
This started as a test scene inspired in the House “Casa Cher” from the Argentina architects BAK. You can see more in http://www.bakarquitectos.com.ar/ .
Like I said in the Lux foruns I wanted to test the tree software tree[d] and some new post-production techniques, but above all wanted to test Lux 0.8 dev build because I stooped using for a while Lux because I was always getting fireflies. The problem seems to be fixed with the 0.8 dev builds.
The images look good to me except for the trees. tree[d] is a nice software for trees but only for the background and mid distance, they are to low poly for close ups.
Made with Blender 2.49 and Luxrender 0.8 dev.
thats a sweet render - thought it was fake for a little while, the trees give it away though
I love it…looks like halfprofi foto documentation…textures must be slave work…can you post some wires? …5 stars
Ba the way, how long took this image…I dont use Lux, because its too much slow…Its great for unique renders, but useless for real life…
Lovely texture work- the trees gave away the reality though Great render!
This is very well done.
Thanks for the comments! The tree really are not best, I agree. The texturing is very simple, they had a little treatment in Gimp. Lux is a great render, it delivers beautiful lighting.
Hangar, I agree that Lux is bit slow but for stills the quality is amazing. I can’t really say ao long this images took because I stoped and resume the render several times and I use a computer at work and another at home then use the great tool Luxmerger and merge the render’s. The computer’s are Core Duo (not the faster thing around), but I guess around 60 hours each.
Absolutely cracking good, the lighting reminds me of when I traveled to spain, warm glowing effect.
Awsome, good work and keep it up.
a delight to look at it. Sir!
how is the ground done -any tips on texturing?
Awesome renders… it looks real
Thanks again! This is another view that I let cooking on the weekend. And a screen-shoot of Blender with the terrain select to show that the ground was model then applied a texture to a displace modifier to appear more natural. The material in Lux is a matte. I could do the displacement in Lux but this away I could see how the texture affected the terrain.

Excellent work. My mind wants to tell me that these renders are photographs. The textures are awesome. The trees look real enough.
thanks for posting ground details.
some xfrog trees are avlbl free(you may know it already)

Superb work. I particularly like how the light striking the ground is affected by passing through the trees.
Very nice, I like the natural feeling of the image!
