How 2 save a custom viewing setup

2.49b: Hi, nube here! I’m finding that I currently like to view 3 viewports, (3D, Text, and Outliner), and would like to set them up to come up that way by default, or at least quickly.

At the middle of the top of Blender, I see “SR:2-Model”, and if I set the view up as I want and then hit “ADD NEW” and “Duplicate”, I can get an added “Model” named view(er?), but I don’t know how to SAVE that new viewer style so I can just click on it as desired.

Is there some way to save such a view or make it default?

you can create a custom view and then press “STRG+U” to “Save User Defaults”
