in this video almost start 10 mins can see bevel edge by a spline shape,in blender how do this?
Give a spline some bevel depth (Geometry->Bevel->Depth). Also, set Shape->Fill to Full.
It seems a bit tricky to do it straight away like is done in max.Maybe hardops addon can help.
Or you could try this:
- duplicate your mesh and convert the copy to curve (Alt+C), name it main curve
- create a curve that will be used as your bevel profile, name it profile (be careful where your profile’s origin is, put it in the highest point)
- put your profile in the main curve properties, in bevel object caption
- check if your profile is aligned as you expect, otherwise you need to rotate it in edit mode or you need to change the main curve direction (hit space and write switch direction)
- finally convert your main curve to mesh (Alt+C again), then join it with your original mesh (select both hit ctrl+J) and remove doubles.
