How can I activate the deltas(dloc*,drot*,dsize*) in IPO?

I read through the blender manual (33megas PDF file), and I didn’t find this option. Is it activateable? Or it never finished, and never activateable?
The documents contains some references, but there isn’t KEY combinations, or other.

It just was a simple question

It works on an existing curve in an existing channel.

Select the frame where you want to modify the curve. LMB the DLoc you want to use and add an IKey, grab, scale or rotate the object in the 3D window, move to the next IKey frame (if you need to) and add an IKey.

It doesn’t change the IPO curve, it just adds annimation relative to it. Difficult to explain but you’ll get it if you just experiment. Mostly you only need one D type IKey, it works it’s own way back to the IPO curve.

AFAIK you cannot use IKEY for dLoc-dRot IPOS, you must enter vertices by hand

Stefano

That’s what I thought, too. They can only be manually inserted.

Fligh: Try the things you explain before you explain them?

Did you take the trouble to try what I explained???

Yes, I did. Inserting keys for Rotation or Location doesn’t ever seem to change dLoc or dRot curves, no matter what kinds of selection/activation I try in the IPO window.

Still, a good way to do it is insert normal loc/rot keys and them copy/paste them in the Dloc/Drot channels.

Martin

Yes, that’s what I usually do. However, thinking about it, don’t you think a button setting somewhere in the IPO window to switch between relative and absolute IPOs would be cool? If it’s set to “relative”, IKEY->Rot/Size/Loc automatically inserts dRot/dSize/dLoc keys.

or just new options in the Insert key menu. Since in some case, you could want both Loc and Dloc.

Martin

OK, my apollogies! I was wrong. Inserting an IKey inserts it to the original IPO curve. You do have to modify the D-Curve by hand.
