Hey I know that I have seen this somewhere but I looked everywhere before asking here.
So please help meee please…
How do I go about putting a movie ( .mov .avi …) on a plane in
the game engine? I tried uv mapping it. I thought that would work.
Maybe it is just my bugy OSX Publisher version.
yet
but there are scripts to do similar things (look in this forum) I would advise against it because it is slow, uses a lot of memory and other bad things.
check to see if there is a feature request for movie playback in game engine (full motion videos would use the engine, movies would be of some other format and running fullscreen) on blender.org. If not, add one.
but you can have animations that play on a plane
your frames have to be in one texture, and in a grid (each frame in one cel of the grid). Look for more info on it on blender.org in the blender 2.0 guide in the image window.
it is a lot more useful for, say particle animations than cutscenes.
There’s a script now, not srue by whom, but you don’t have to do it z3r0 d’s way, though it was tried. Just search for fmd i think is what it’s called.
