Hi guys
How can I create a spot like this with procedural maps?
It’s not the metal color I’m talking about.
it’s about the transparent edges with all these details.
follow example below.
thank you all .

it looks like you made the stain in less detail than the example above.
Is there a way to get more details? more asymmetrical? with holes inside the stain ?
thank you so much
Yep- go reproduce that node group exactly and then play around with the values. I’ll give you a couple hints- you’re going to want to increase Scale fields to get more detail overall. You’ll get holes inside the stain by moving the handles of the color ramps. You can change the symmetry and overall shape by adjusting what gets mixed with the Gradient, or by changing the gradient for something else.
I’m not going to say more specifically than that, if you want to learn how to use Blender the best way is to experiment and that should get you started
Just an additional hint. If you need far-away clouds, and want to avoid using Volume, then put more of these in front of each other. You can simply use Transmission for a simpler solution, or separate shaders as @joseph showed. You can mask with black as Alpha, where there are no clouds.
Transmission is reversed, there whites will be transparent, so you can tweak for grayish values.
If you want to go crazy, create half a sphere like a giant sky dome, then 2-3 others scaled in. You can apply procedural textures upon it. Your PC may not be thankful but you can make it look really great
Haha! I thought it was a cloud at first too! It’s not though. Look again.
thanks for listening
but I didn’t understand anything.
can you post pictures please?
You have a picture of a node group that will give you exactly what you’re looking for, and a huge level of customizable fields. Recreate that, and then come back with any specific issues or problems you encounter
actually what i want is in the example image
:
a stain with a finely detailed edge.
thanks
again, you can get the finer details by adjusting the fields in the already provided example. only you can get exactly what you’re looking for, but you have all the tools to do so
