How can I make a wave texture distortion follow 2 object positions?

I wanted to make a wave texture that acts similar to this:


however I couldn’t get it to follow 2 object positions at once like that did. Any help?

A quick example to play with…Mapping nodes are just the default…
Instead of driving the Distortion…works better to drive the Offset…Distortion works but isn’t in your wave pattern.
