How do I add faces connecting edge loops?

I am modeling the hull of a ship of sail. I want to create the sectional planes and then create faces connecting them…but I seem to have to do one face at a time. Is there a faster way to do this?

To clarify, let’s say I have a 10 polygons with 40 vertices on each and they have no faces. They are all similar but represent the curvature of the ships hull along it’s length. An example would be looking at the wire mesh of a cylinder as seen from the side but it has no connecting faces, just the circular rings spaced equidistant apart from each other. I want to create a skin from one ring to the next. No faces inside the rings…just connecting faces between the rings.

Thanks for any pointers on this.

enable the add-on called ‘loop tools’ or something like that, and use the ‘bridge’ tool that will appear on your tool shelf

found it…thanks. IS there a way to keep your addons in tact when closing and opening Blender? I closed blender and when I re-opened my file nothing happened when I hit the "w’ key. Then when I checked the addons, the loop tools were no longer checked/

Thanks again

i think you check ‘save as default’ or something in the preferences window.

I’ll try that…thanks Modron.

also, if you want that as a default in all your new files, hit ctrl U ( save user preferences )
