how do I circle select in blender 2.57?

when I was using blender 2.49, if the b key was pressed, a box select mode was entered, pressing it again, would give the circle select mode.
In blender 2.57, it doesn’t work anymore. how do I enter circle select mode?

To use circle select in 2.5 press the C key.
