How do I Get Simple Dynamic Paint Test To Run in Cycles Render?

I have a simple dynamic paint test which uses an ICOSphere to paint a plane. The simulation runs and renders fine using Blender Render, but I cannot get the paint to render using Cycles Render. I have tried numerous ways using vector and image sequencing but cannot get the results I am looking for. I have attached the blend file of the Blender Render set up (which works fine). Can anyone give me some help on how to get this to render using Cycles Render?
