How do I load a downloaded material in 2.5?

Hi, I am using Blender 2.5 and I downloaded a texture from the Blender Repository. I then read the Blender Wiki on how to load a texture but I am having some problems. Here is what I did.

  1. I downloaded a material from: http://matrep.parastudios.de/index.php
  2. I opened Blender 2.5 and selected (File > Link or Append)
  3. I then browse to the material folder I downloaded and select it.
  4. In the material Folder there are 7 subfolders: (Material, Mesh, Object, Scene, Text, Texture & World) I select the “Material” folder and then select the file inside it. I then select “Link/Append from Library” then I am taken back to my 3D scene, but what next?

Did the material load? How do I find the material in Blender?

Any help is appreciated.

The new material should be in the drop down list of materials that you can then use for your model.

There they are. Would never have thought to click that small icon or that a list of the materials would be hidden there. Thanks Richard.
